Expanding the public outreach of a powerboating legend
The 76th Centomiglia del Lario will see a renewed effort in connecting with the city of Como and a broader public.
PADDOCK VISITS
Adding to the initiatives we crafted in the past years, for the first time this edition will see an open paddock.
We pushed the communication effort necessary to explain the new dynamics to the general public, engaging with visitors and managing a delicate process of calibrating registrations/access.
TEMPORARY EXHIBITION
To enrich the visitor experience, we planned a temporary exhibition right next to the paddock, hosted in partnership with the team of Sheraton Lake Como Hotel who provided magnificent indoor/outdoor spaces.
We designed and curated the exposition, gathering raceboats, engines, artifacts, memorabilia and photographs covering almost a century of racing on Lake Como.
We are most thankful to all builders, pilots, clubs and private collectors who made the exhibition possible by contributing exceptional materials, most of which had never been shown in public.
Crown jewels of the exhibition will be the current holder of the speed world record, a diesel three-point boat designed, built and piloted by Fabio Buzzi, and the legendary BPM 5 designed, built and piloted by Tullio Abbate, winning boat of the 1963 Centomiglia.
